Introducing Arlington Chiropractor Dr. Loren Ernst
Dr. Ernst

If I only knew what I was getting myself into.....
I became a chiropractor primarily based upon my experiences as a child. As a child I had three very influential people in my life who were chiropractors. Two of them were uncles of mine who practiced chiropractic in Minnesota and Wisconsin. The other one, was my family chiropractor in my home town of Deer Park, WA.
One thing that always amazed me with getting adjusted, was that no matter how good I felt, I always felt better afterward. Also I played High School and Junior College football, and during football season the only thing that kept me on the field was getting adjusted on a regular basis.
I went to Chiropractic College at Life Chiropractic College -West, located in the San Francisco bay area. And in many ways I truly didn't know what I was getting myself into. First I did not realize that as a chiropractor you are also considered a primary care doctor, which means you are held to the same standards as medical doctors for diagnosing a patients condition. Hence there were many classes that the average patient does not realize is part of the chiropractic curriculum, Courses such a neurology, physical diagnosis, ob/gyn, gastrointestinal pathology to name a few. The chiropractic education is equivalent or exceeds that of a medical degree in many ways.
The purpose of my practice is to be a positive influence in the health and lives of my patients. Chiropractic care can do so many wonderful things for patients. We all think primarily in terms of pain relief, but chiropractic care can give people their lives back. When you can't interact with your spouse, your children or be effective at work because you are in constant pain, it has a very negative affect on all of a persons' relationship.
And beyond that chiropractic care has such a profound impact on our general health and well being. A properly functioning nervous system greatly enhances the odds that one will be healthy and happy.
Also I like to think of myself as a coach or mentor for my patients. Helping them make good health choices in all aspects of their lives. Whether this is nutritional counseling, designing exercise program or giving tools to help deal with the stresses that occur in all of our lives.
